1What they actually want

Our plain-words read of this job. It explains the job, not the employer's own words.

Kuda lends money through its app, and this job helps decide who gets credit, how much they get, and how the bank collects it back. Most weeks you will watch how the loan book is performing, look at repayment by group of borrowers, and test whether a change to the credit rules or score cut-off makes things better or worse. You will also keep a profit and loss forecast for the lending business and run A/B tests on things like collection strategies. The Decision Science team uses your findings to shape credit policy.

They ask for three or more years as a data or quantitative analyst in finance, fintech or e-commerce, with a mathematics-based degree. SQL and Python or R are the daily tools, and you must understand the statistics behind an A/B test. Credit metrics such as roll rates and vintage curves are a bonus rather than a must, so a strong analyst from e-commerce can still apply. To stand out, show a test or analysis you ran from start to finish, and the decision it changed.
